Viva - the South Yorkshire Arts Consortium

We are delighted to announce that Viva – the South Yorkshire Arts Consortium will be officially launched on Tuesday 2 February 2010.

The consortium has been set up with the mission to develop a sustainable consortium of arts organisations within South Yorkshire in order to maximise funding opportunities, raise the quality of the cultural offer, share resources and work effectively together.

Our Director Clare McManus is one of the founding Directors of the consortium alongside:
Ashley Barnes (Dead Earnest Theatre)
Jon Maiden (Point Blank Theatre)
Mary Turner (Action Space Mobile)

Modernisation Fund - consultant's brief

We have been successful in our application to Phase 2 of the Modernisation Fund and now wish to use our grant to buy the professional support we need in order to consider our continued role within Viva - the South Yorkshire Arts Consortium.

Shropshire Art Strategy

Clare McManus has been busy consulting and facilitating workshops with artists, voluntary arts organisations, parish councillors and council staff in Shropshire, as part of a process to creatte a new Arts Strategy for Shropshire Council.

A series of group conversations created a very live process, where the ideas from one group were fed into and reflected on by the next. The next stage of consultation with key stakeholders and council employees will continue over the summer, after which draft recommendations will go out to public consultation. The strategy is due for completion early 2011.
