We are delighted to be working with 2 fantastic photographers, Monica Fernandez and Laura Pannack, on Look at Me! – Images of Women and Ageing.
Look at Me! is a joint academic and arts research project between Eventus and the Universities of Sheffield and Derby. We are exploring how women are represented in the media and society as they grow older, the messages these images give out, and how they affect women’s well-being.

Monica is originally from Tenerife but is now based in Leicester where she completed her MA in Photography at De Montfort University in 2004. She has been exhibiting her work internationally in galleries, organisations and institutions. Monica is working with a wonderful group of women from Guildford Grange Extra Care Scheme, which is managed by Places for People.
Laura is based in London and studied at Central Saint Martins and the University of Brighton where she graduated in 2008. She has won a number of awards, most recently 1st prize Portraits Singles in the World Press Photo Contest earlier this year - a fantastic achievement. Laura is working with women volunteers from Green Estate, a dynamic social enterprise which offers a range of commercial and community focused environmental programmes.
