The project will take place in Killamarsh, a former mining town in NE Derbyshire.

Please refer to the full artist's brief before submitting your application.

Closing date for applications: 12noon, Monday 4 January 2010.

Audience development action research project

This is an exciting opportunity for a photographer to be part of an action research project targeting women aged between 45 – 60 who do not normally take part in arts activities.

We aim to create an arts offer to people who currently feel that arts activity isn’t for them or part of their everyday life. We want to present arts activity as an accessible part of social, community or family life.

We are looking for a photographer who can engage and enthuse women aged between 45 - 60 at a domestic and neighbourhood level to take part in digital photography by capturing the things - family, home, activities, neighbourhood or possessions - that are most important to them.

The project will take place in Killamarsh, a former mining town in NE Derbyshire.

The project must be completed by the end of March 2010 with an exhibition in April.

Photographers are asked to propose a realistic project within the fee available.

The fixed fee for the commission is £3,000 (including VAT if applicable).
This fee is to include all payments to the artist, professional fees, payments to sub-contractors, materials and expenses. There is a small additional budget to be allocated by agreement for e.g. participant, venue and exhibition costs.
