Following the success of our partnership over the last few years with Creative Partnerships Bolsover, Ashfield and Mansfield (CP BAM, now The Mighty Creatives), we were commissioned by them to create an invaluable document for teachers as a guide to outdoor learning.

"Places and Spaces - exploring learning beyond a familiar environment" was written by Louise Page, who is experienced both as a Creative Practitioner for Creative Partnerships, and as a writer (having previously worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and on the Archers).  The guide offers 30 pages of essential information about how to think creatively about outdoor learning - the range of sites available to visit, planning a creative visit, and how to incorporate that learning back in the classroom.  It is based on case studies of practical outdoor learning carried out by CP BAM schools and shows how a range of places, from school playgrounds to historic sites, can stimulate creative learning.

TMC will distribute hard copies of the guide to their schools in Bolsover, Ashfield and Mansfield, and a PDF version of the guide can be downloaded from our Creative Partnerships webpage.
