Viva - the South Yorkshire Arts Consortium

We are delighted to announce that Viva – the South Yorkshire Arts Consortium will be officially launched on Tuesday 2 February 2010.

The consortium has been set up with the mission to develop a sustainable consortium of arts organisations within South Yorkshire in order to maximise funding opportunities, raise the quality of the cultural offer, share resources and work effectively together.

Our Director Clare McManus is one of the founding Directors of the consortium alongside:
Ashley Barnes (Dead Earnest Theatre)
Jon Maiden (Point Blank Theatre)
Mary Turner (Action Space Mobile)

Modernisation Fund - consultant's brief

Inside Out

Photographer Richard Hanson was commissioned to work with residents of Page Hall, Sheffield to capture what was most important to them inside and outside their homes.
The resulting exhibition was launched today at the Pakistan Advice Centre on Page Hall Road and can be viewed there until the New Year. (Visitors are always welcome there, but if you plan to pop in the best day to visit will be Thursdays).

There are plans to produce an exhibition brochure and to tour the exhibition around Sheffield to showcase this project. Key images can be viewed on Richard's website.

The project is part of the Creative Places project, which aims to integrate culture into the Housing Market Renewal programme.
