Weston Park opened its gates to the public in 1875. As Sheffield’s oldest municipal park it has a special place in the city’s heart. Sheffield City Council's Parks & Countryside Department commissioned Eventus to deliver a community heritage project to discover and document memories of the ways in which local people of all ages use Weston Park today.
The information gathered about the park was conveyed in a distinctive, memorable and individual way through a dedicated website and booklet.
Eventus supported this local ‘friends’ group to develop a systematic approach to heritage collection. It also advised on the design of promotional materials to involve more people in its activities to protect, preserve and improve the environment of Wincobank Hill.
