Look at Me! Women & Ageing

Guildford Grange resident & family at Workstation Exhibition

The research for the exhibitions- at The Workstation, Jessop West and shop windows on the Moor- showed that when asked if they wanted to see more positive images of older women in public places, 88.3% of respondents said ‘yes’, 9.5% of answered ‘no’ 2.7% respondents answered ‘maybe’.

50.2% of visitors – male and female, said that the exhibition had made them feel differently about older women.

“The warmth, humour, honesty and love of life the women have was truly inspiring.  Wonderful.  MORE, MORE, MORE!”

The delivery side of project has now ended but dissemination continues to 2013.  A small primary schools project using the images is being carried out by the University of Sheffield and project partners are exploring further funding opportunities to extend the work to include different groups.
